Need one
I've started looking around for an old W&B to do up, as the title says.... I need one....
I saw this on ebay and the width of the blade seems to diminish as it gets closer to the heel. It looks kinda like a lop-sided smile.... or Billy Idol
Is this an issue?

Cheers,
David.

Doesn't look to be a problem to me at all unless you're bothered by the esthetic of it. My W&B does the same thing, over 6/8 at the heel to just over 7/8 at the point. Hardly noticeable because it's a smile, but I don't see any problems turning that baby into a fine shaver.

That's good to know. By the way xman this is your fault. I was looking through the user gallery and saw your w&b
http://straightrazorpalace.com/compo...1/key,0/hit,1/
and that's why I now need one!
Another option is

The questions with this one are there too much honeware (I'm assuming that is the flat spot at the top of the blade) and would it be possible to remove the pitting using just sandpaper and elbo grease?
Oh and one more this looks quite thin for a W&B, I know it's hard to tell from the picture (or any for that matter) but do you recon it'd be about a 5/8?

This I would say is substantially more work. Elbow grease only gets you so far. I'd say power tool on that.

hey, with item := 330018064315 is that lighter strip that runs along the top of the blade is that honeware or is it just the design?

I have purchased 3 very early w & b`s from this seller and from experience the mark is hone ware ,The ones I purchased I re- ground but with course wet & dry it would be possable to repair with a lot ,repeat lot of elbow grease . If you are not in a hurry it would make a good project.
That is just my opinion, I would confirm with Bill or one of the other exellent refurb specialists as they have been at this game longer than me,I looked at this one myself however as I said I already have 3 very similar,he seems to be good to deal with ,I have had no problems
Hope this helps
Kind regards Peter

Thanks Peter,
I'm gonna ask a dumb one...
What is regrinding? Is it xtreme sanding
If that is the case then how would that fix the hone ware? I would have thought that once the back had been warn down then It would be impossible to hone because the angle is all wrong.
