Where to buy pins.
Hi there guys.
I would like to know if anyone knows where I could buy pins from?
I thought of peening/riveting my own pins, but after getting polyester pearl material at the price of an arm and a leg, I dont want to make a mess of it.
I posted an earlier thread asking how to peen pins neatly, and a member replied with an ebay link of a guy in germany who sells pins, but for the life of me I cannot get a hold of him.

Here is the link to a post that contains all the links to where to get good razor parts stuff. Look under the heading "How to pin / unpin scales"
Here is another place where you can buy already fashioned pins if you don't want to make your own. I'm sorry I don't know of any good links to give you for places that are on your side of the pond.
I don't know what shipping to SA will cost you. but I think if I were in your position, I'd look for a local hobby shop or hardware store that sold 1/16 brass rods and cut and peen my own. It's not really all that hard to do, and would be much cheaper in the long run.
If you're afraid to mess up your work, just use the practice method that Gssixgun recommends and peen together some popsicle sticks (or "hobby sticks" as they are sometimes called). I did this, and it gave me confidence and experience to peen my own pins. Plus, hand making rivets (which is what you're actually doing) is fun!!!
