Ouch man.... I sold an old WB that I put 2 big old chips in while restoring. I don't have the means to repair it, so I just sold it as it was.. Sadness ....
But great job fixing it up.. I wish I knew grinding, but I have no skills there..

Killed a few razors the same way. Good job saving it though.

always sad to see good steel get mangled. I'm just glad I could salvage it. waiting on some micromesh and G10 to finish her up...

The first thing I noticed was not the blade but the scales.
What is the deal with the big nuts and bolts??? Classic!

LMAO!! I know, It came like that! first thing I did was throw JD weld into the cave(hole) after sanding it out. I should be done with this soon hopefully after some scale material comes in and some micromesh. I have managed to save the blade so it should look interesting.

This got me thinking... Maybe take a poll for scale material, giraffe bone, exotic wood, kudu horn or G10(I have three choices in various colors)

The giraffe surely has some of the strongest bone in existence, because his legs are so heavily stressed. I have seen some of which I don't very much like the colour, though. I think there is a lot to be said for camel, and here is an eBay supplier I have found very good for both this and horn in razor sizes: Large Flat Bone Blank 135 x 35 mm Box Restoration | eBay
Like wood, the slower growing the harder and closer grained it is likely to be, and the camel's life is no feed-lot. When you get below the surface it tends to be mottled with opaquely white and more translucent areas, which to me just says "Look, I'm not plastic." There will also be occasional hair-sized pores which will turn into black dots if you use most polishing compounds, unless you fill them with something else.
