Thanked: 0Done with cleaning and polishing!
I made a post about a week ago about my German made antique store find and wasn't sure i was going to keep it well after much encouragement to stick with it I decided to restore and rebuild... my first step was to remove clean and polish the blade, that's all done and here it is. Next im going to make some scales, as soon as all the materials arrive.
P.S. one of my careless accident! looked up at TV and whoops sliced tip of finger!Last edited by Skelp; 06-20-2011 at 06:03 AM.

Thanked: 993That blade looks much better.
Your finger looks much worse!
Industry hazards I'm afraid. Nice work on the steel.

Thanked: 0Good catch. I work in a job that I need fingernails as a tool (as weird as that sounds) I cut every other weekend (that was a day early) thanks for all the praise on the blade it took about 4 hours. Now I'm on to my scales... Wood just got here expect pics soon!

Keep up the good work. I have two oxford blades sitting in oil, waiting for scales. I'm using bubinga on the first one.
