I have a question. Are you wanting to learn to shave with a straight? Or did you just buy them on a whim and wanting to know if you got a good deal and can make some money?

Sid...Yes I would be interested in learning to shave straight..I logged into this site to learn about the razors..I would like to restore them ,or sell them at a fair price to a person whom would appreciate them and use them..before I logged in here I was ready to clean the razors with steel wool (fine)and sharpen one and lather up ..but I learned that could cause severe bleeding.....so ,...to answer your question..I would like to learn..I did buy them on a whim..I would like to know thier value ,and like every red blooded american,sure I'd like to make a few bucks if it's reasonable,but I'd like also for the razors to be appreciated and out of respect for the craftsman Iwant them to be used with results that satisfy the shaver.thank you

I voted restore. That'll always be my vote though, because I've always tended to find great joy in making old things new again. Like the others, I'd suggest checking out the member services. I can't speak for others, but restoring anything is really more a labor of love. Meaning to say, if you tackle a restore with the idea of turning a quick profit, you're probably gonna quit before you've bought the bandsaw, belt sander, CA, other assorted chemicals, 150 dollars worth of hones, scale material, 7 different polishing compounds, 4 different greaseless compounds, calipers, microfasteners, pinning materials, shiny 13 dollar ball peen hammer, 10 different grits of sandpaper at 8 bucks per 3 sheet pack, wax, drop cloths, respirator, maas, files...so many different files, drill press, rotary tool, and all those little $4.00 packages of rotary tool accessories, vise....and the list goes on and on I'm sure. I've only been here a few weeks, and that's what it seems to take. Or, you could send them to somebody in member services who probably already has that, in addition to the knowledge and experience to do it right, all for an affordable price. On the flip side, I'm having alot of fun doing my own so far. Of course, I've been working on the same one for 3 weeks, spent about 300 bucks, and am certain the razor in question will be worth the same ten dollars I paid for it when I'm done. Of course, we do have the benefit of all the free and valuable advice on this website, which is really worth more than all the equipment a person could buy. So there you go....opinion of a new guy...take it with salt.

Reg.joe:Thanx a heap..I've done tool and die work but these razors are really an art.I honestly would prefer someone to be very interested in my razors..and make me a reasonable offer they could probally get them fairly cheap and have a good time restoring them,Then again I think of the intrigue of shaving straight..and the savings on disposible razors!!!!!!,maybe I can take the least quality razor and try a restore and try shaving with it..if you don't hear from me soon you'll know I made a chopper....thanx again for the input..

Post them in the classified section, and I'm sure you'll find someone who will do right by them. I'd love to take them, but I've been grounded from further spending, for the foreseeable future.

I think you must have 50 posts before you can post in the member classifieds. I think ebay would be your best bet. You probably shouldn't solicit sales in this forum though.
