Thanked: 69he will have to use a pin with a larger diameter.... the small diameter is allowing the blade to slide down and make contact with the wedge.....
just use a bigger pin and all is good....

Maybe the nail was bent, allowing the blade to clear the wedge, and now that the pin is straight there is not enough room for the blade. This doesn't explain why the blade would have been in scales too short at production, but maybe they're not original? You can always transfer the scale shape to a new blank and fabricate a new set that fits!

Thanked: 247Something about posting pics makes a person self concious, and apt to make excuses for certain "as yet unfinished" aspects of the razor in question. Anyhow, let's just say I'm not ready to put it back in the scales, but these should highlight what will be my trouble spots when I do. I think you all have answered my questions already though. And even answered some questions I didn't know I needed to ask. So thanks to all very much!
