Is there a way?
Hello gents just wondering if there are any good way of darkening up the stampings on the tang and blade?
I'm sure there must be and this has been covered before.

Good answer above!
Check with a machine tool supply dealer. They have a crayon made just for that use, as in renewing the markings on scales and micrometers etc.
Wash the part extremely well , wash down with acetone (Don;t get any on the scales or your hands which will touch the scales.) Warm the blade to just over hot to the hand ~ to about 120ºF and cover the lines with the crayon, work it in with a popsicle stick or woman's' cuticle stick, scrape off the surface with a very sharp SE razor blade, cool to room temp, and then buff by hand with stiff cardboard like found inside a new shirt till only the lines retain any crayon. The old "china markers" with the peel off wrapping are similar but not as durable..
I do not like to use heat on a blade unless I am sure that I can control it exactly.
