    Default First Restoration

Hi everyone, this is my first post and my first straight razor restoration. The razor is a J. Wiss & Sons Co. "COSMO". I hand sanded stating with 150 grit up to 600 grit. Then I used a dremel buffing felt with black and rouge emery compounds. It turns out the scales had a crack so I took them out. Also there was a really big crack so I tried to grind that towards the neck. I am waiting for your opinions and recommendations. Name: Photo0968.jpg

Looks good to me. Nice to hear you remodeled and didn't bin it. Throw some scales back on her, hone her up and let us know how she shaves.

Thanks man, what scales would you recommend that would not hurt the budget?

Looks good...nice save on that one. The scales you choose really depend on you and your preferances. Do you want to make them yourself?

Just the basic grinder that comes with the dremel kit.

I don't plan on making my own scales just yet, maybe for my next restoration. I was thinking of buying these Straight Razor Maintenance & Repair Needs
