    Default MAAS vs. Autosol

Is there a major difference between these two products (MAAS and Autosol), such as the active ingredients and the end result from using? I have only tried Autosol, with good results, to polish up a couple of carbon razors that get a patina look after each shave. The inaccessibility of MAAS means Autosol was the first choice. No Walmarts in Tasmania Australia.

    Hey there,

This is more of a workshop post, check this thread

I haven't used MAAS, but I believe it is the American version of autosol. If you are in europe, autosol and peek are both good polishes, as is brasso. Have you used it yet?

Thanks for the info. Also, how do I move this post to the workshop section?

Getting Autosol all over the scales was one of my concerns. I wasn't sure if it would deteriorate them over time. Thanks.

Look for the polish to say "Fiberglass" and or "Plastic" on the label too and it should be ok for scales, but be careful with any polishes that contain Ammonia, and certain Petroleum distillates, as they can wreck scales...

    MAAS
    Flitz
    Blue Magic

I know work well and safely, I have heard that Auotsol does too

Simi-Chrome works well but will strip etching with a quickness

I use autosol and Tormeks brynpasta. Both are excellent.
