Let me know how the XC works out.
I've always thought about buying one, but so far never bothered.

Thanked: 1936You could always pick up one of these from Sears for about $50, they run slow and the water will alleviate ANY heat:
I use mine for some hollow work.

Thanked: 30I like the DMT's. They seem real sturdy and no lapping. They kinda lack in the feedback department, none of that lets get quiet then act like your rubbing steel on glass. They just kinda jump straight to the glass feeling. I really really wish I had the XXC for this, there is a forge wave towards then end of the one side. Plus due to the slight curve it has the effect of the middle top of the wedge bulging out. Its slowly disappearing, along with the forge wave. This is where the plates are nice, just continuous even pressure and it slowly become flat. For the most part I am using a fairly high pressure mixed with medium pressure, but when the sides are flat, I am going to go medium/light, then just light until I can just to the coarse and see it work it nice and even. It definitely has more heft than my dovo full hollow lol.

Thanked: 30No pics yet, but its all pretty flat now. spent a few hours today rubbing it on the DMT XC. I have the test bevels slowly disappearing and a weird spot at an edge. With a little bit of luck, I will have the faces flat tomorrow.
