    Default Repinning a razor

I have never replaced or repinned scales on a razor and haven't the slightest idea how to do it. I've seen on eBay washers and pins (which looked like long material that needs to be cut). How is this done? What are the tools that are required? I just bought a razor it looks as if it was pinned with a piece of staple or something and I would like to take this as my opportunity to try this on my own.

Is there a place to actually purchase scales or do you just kinda find them on old razors?

I just bought five razors on eBay and all five showed up today, all on the same day. I bought them on different days. The wife was not amused. If they were at least spaced out I could have worked with that. I really need a PO Box. Guess that's just one more expense associated with RAD...

Most restoration scales are made from blanks. The thread above goes over that too.

Beware some of the ebay pinning supplys, some are nothing more than SS pop rivitts poseing as razor repair items.
Do some reaserch, your best bet is tried and true nickel rod and washers.

I would like to repin my razor as well without destroying the scales. I have an old Boker King Cutter with Bone scales which aren't lined up very good and I want to clean inside the scales. I also want to keep to Scales (Unpinning is not a problem) but how do I put them back together?

5 in one day-that is priceless! My boys know that if a small box shows up addressed to me to just leave it for me with a heads up. "oh, honey, I've had this razor, don't you remember?"

BTW, I'm just starting to mess with re-pinning; thanks for asking the question, spinsheet!
There are many roads to sharp.
