Thread: Major lovin' or need to be put down?

Oh Hirlau, quick question/s about the "holder", as you called it above. Is that all that is, is a rest or holder? Or were you refering to the holder of the leather? It is a hand strop of some sort isn't it? Sorry new guy here. Also what is this on the bottom?

I'm no expert, it seems like a hand strop.
But what is that plate on the bottom? Is it abrasive?
or a pad to prevent skids?

I have a couple of hand strop/hones, but the stone in each is readily identifiable.

It's not a stone it is kind of an porous metal. It looks just like a solid base to weigh it down or something

I would polish her up & replace the leather.
It looks like a neat piece.

*****check the leather, if its not rotten, saddle soap and scrub it, let it dry for a week , then leather conditioner, save the leather if it is strong.
