    Default Alphaknifesupply.com ok supplier?

I thought this would be the best place to ask this since it is a scale materials supplier; if not any mods can move the thread if needed. I am needing some g10 for some up coming work I'm doing, and I was wondering if Alpha Knife supply is a reputable seller. They have all the sizes I need for scales, liners, and some thinner sheets of material perfect for wedge blanks, but here is the catch; they don't take paypal which is where my money comes from to pay for this hobby. They also don't have a checkout link to pay w/ any kind of card. They only do money order, check, or you have to fax your CC or DC info; now that is what makes me leary. If any of you guys have dealt w/ them your input would be invaluable at this point.

Just find another supplier. Dependable or not, money orders and faxing CC numbers are things that have outlived their time.
Kind of like cheques. The risks are just too great.

They are as honest as can be. I've been dealing with them for years. They are well known in the knife maker's industry and I see them in Vegas every year at one of the big knife shows. I never had an issue. Give them a call when placing your order as they can tell you immediately if an item is available. No need to fax or email your CC info. You can do it by phone. They also are very honest in their shipping charges.

Great, thanks a heap guys. I think I will take your advice on this max and just phone it all in, so no e-mail tag. If you and Charlie use them, then I trust they are stand up. Thanks for the input as well Bruno, if no one had given me a thumbs up from first hand experience w/ them, I would definitely gone w/ your say on this. Hopefully they will change this, but w/ the extra fees and such, I can see somewhat why they don't use a specific company for processing their charges.

I make a few knives each year and have worked with Alpha before, they are easy to work with, very helpful, good prices.

I just wanted to post my dealings w/ alpha knife over the past weeks to let others know about these folks.
Wednesday before Thanksgiving I spoke w/ Chuck and placed my order; he said it would go out first thing Friday morning (cool no four day wait!). Saturday morning, I mean early early I am guessing, mine, and five others in my neighborhood had our cars broken into. Unfortunately, I had went to the gym Friday night, and forgot my wallet in my glove box...well guess what happened next, yep gone. Monday I get a call from alpha saying the card was declined, of course I had them cut off while talking to the cop in the driveway. I explained the situation, and appologized, and that I had hoped they had already processed my payment before then, not so lucky I guess. After explaining that I should have my card in by wed or thurs, and as soon as I activiated it I would call and pay them toot sweet, and after more appologies on my part, Jessica said she understood, was sorry to hear about the ordeal, and that I could pay them at any point during the week!!!!!!! This is the type of people you do business w/ long term folks. So thank you Chuck and Jessica and alpha knife for being great and understanding folks; you officially have a customer for life!
