Default My first set of scales

So I had bought some beat up razors with the intent to restore and modify. well I have rescued two of them from their rotten beat up scales and I wanted to make some new scales for them. One of the blades is a wade and butcher so that is what I am starting. So I bought some G10 from alpha knife supply one sheet of hunter orange and one of toxic green. Yeah I went there.

    Here is the blade.

and the scales. Just need to make the wedge.

I really like how they are looking cant wait to get them on the razor and start to hone it.

    Thanks

Nice looking scales. Looks like they would be comfortable in the hand.

    Update on the scales.
I have the wedge to the width I think I am happy with. Also been busy on the lathe.

Made some washers for the pins that will be inlayed into the scales, the beveled side of the washer will be in the scales.

    And made some pivot washers/reducers.

    Inayed washers.

I really like the scales. The color is cool and the over all shape looks nice. The inlayed washers and pins are a good idea.
There is always a solution, whether it's already present or if you have to make it.

Ok here it is ready to be pinned together. I was trying something different for pin material but it seems the stuff work hardens to fast and tends to crack so the pins that are in it will be leaving once I can get some nickel silver rod. I will update when I get the razor in and in shaving condition.

What did you use to cut the G10?

Looks good so far. The inlaid washers are a nice touch. May I provide a "next step" for your next set of scales....because I'm assuming there will be a next set since these are turning out well.
