My First Ebay Vintage Razor - Le Grelot 151
I finally received my first ebay vintage razor. It appeared to be in fairly good condition and to my surprise the edge was really in good shape.
The razor is a Le Grelot 151 5/8.
I removed most of the rust with some extra fine grit sandpaper and some wd-40. It's all honed up and will give it a test drive in the morning.

Thanked: 28Extra fine grit and wd 40 is this standard proceedure? I'm a total newb just purchased my first 3 razors still waiting for them to arrive but I want to try my hand at light restoration and I was wondering if I should pick up a dremel type tool for buffing ? or will sand paper and wd40 do? EDIT: Sorry for the double posting of this question I thought this one did not go through.

Thanked: 38Beautiful blade, congratulations.
Good work, I would polish it a bit better so that it's shining more uniformely.

Thanked: 38The easiest to find are:
Car polish on cotton wad or paper by hand
Then finish with toothpaste.

Very nice! I still haven't gotten my hands on a Le Grelot, but someday...

Does anyone have an idea what grind this razor has? Could it be a quarter hollow?
