Any hobby shop 1/16" brass rod stock. #0 and #0W brass washers from www.microfasteners.com, a ballpeen hammer (even a regular hammer will do but be gentle with it), and a flat hard surface (a small 11lb anvil's cheap and works great). Sounds like a plan. Shipping it shouldn't cost more than a couple of bucks if you do it in a padded envelope (USPS Airmail). Just tell her you bought a coleague (us a male name to avoid other issues ) and yourself a cup of coffee
