wondering if i should bid on it, the rest of the blade looks good just this part along the spine

Removal of that rust will likely leave some pitting, but if the rest of the razor isn't rusted that badly it should be usable.

Thanked: 1936The spine is the easiest area to hand sand, but you must remember that the spine is hard steel too. If it's a good deal then I would say that this razor would be a very easy fix. I would recommend a sanding block.

I saw that one also and wondered the same thing. More than that I wondered how just the spine was affected.

If it is just the spine, I would pounce on it (assuming that you like the razor and it is a price you are comfortable with)....going a step further, I might be inclined to (based on the results of rust removal) attempt some spine embellishments. The "original" factor is already gone, so other than needing to use my diamond files, there would be little apprehension about modifying this in my mind

Thanked: 28I let it go coz the mrs has told me off already for buying too many razors, it was a gold bug, everything else was in pretty good order just the spine. I've seen Lynn mention that their one of the nicest shavers out there so I wanted to get it,
it ended up going for 56usd
