another hottie from vlad.
i really like the combo of woods. usually you find that people have sharply contrasting woods put together ...such as a yellowheart and purpleheart, or an ebony inside something light. this is much less dramatically contrasting and in that sublty lies its elegance. im a total fan of the slight yet distinctive contrast of the 2 woods. and the metal inlay over the junction is eye-catching. reminds me of something off west coast choppers motorcycles which compliments a meatchopper's stature.

Yeah, those woods together really sendit over the top. You're imagination is great Vlad and I hope these gems can keep coming. Gives the other guys ideas too and the average level of resto looks like it's been gooing up recently.

The talent you display is just sickly awe inspiring. You really are an artist. I am hoping to attempt to hand sand a few blades very soon. Making scales with that much imagination, detail, and quality just seems impossible to me. Beautiful work Vlad.

I like the way this razor turned out. The scales were an experiment that went well for a change.
This is not two woods but a single piece of Amboyna burl with sapwood. I think that the combination is sublte and elegant, exactly the result I was hoping to achieve. It took some time to find a two tone piece that I could afford and even then I had to settle for one. The piece I really wanted was $950--way out of my budget.
Ilija, I might take you up on the disposal services for this razor if you are willing to cover the $250 HAZMAT S&H.

Very nice indeed.
It works, in my humble opinion because you have walked up to the line in terms with what you can get away with, but without stepping an inch over.
The scales are attractive, and I like the way you have cut the wedge-end (fat fronted with a slight angle away from the blade) with fancy pinning just sets it off a treat.
I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Vlad, even though the $250 tag is chump change for a piece of this quality the sorry state of my bank account doesn't allow my generosity to stretch that far. (no joke) In any case I have to finish a few pieces of my own and they have to be at least half as "horrible" as this one is

Vlad,
That is a beautiful razor, way to go.if anything has been abnormal for a long enough period it then becomes normal.
