Default Making a roll-up for razors....

Hey guys, I need some advice. I want to make a roll-up but for the inside piece I would like it to be transparent like a clear acetate/vinyl. What material should I use and can you suggest a source.

This is what I am talking about.........

Couldn't you use some kind of "netting" for the inside material? It would make the razors visible and not retain humidity.

How about making one using elastic straps like this instead? Minus all the fancy hardware.....

I think you could use acetate/vinyl, but would have to have holes or something to allow moisture to escape. Netting sounds better cause it would absorb moisture aswell as allowing it to escape. Something like the idea of moisture wicking clothing that allows air flow, but pulls moisture away from the razors at the same time. I made one from a pencil roll that I took out every other stitch to fit a razor. Made a nice 7day roll.

My goal is that when I open the roll I want to see the razor. Not have it hidden. I think oldblades has some of his razors in roll-ups like this. This is more like what I want...

Whatever you decide to do,The roll needs to breath, all scales of any natural material/wood,horn.bone, ivory.have water content that needs to move with temp and humidity changes.

My plan is to use silk on the inside since it has a "wicking" action and breathes. Now I have to look up what other materials for the outside breathe and have a wicking action. Wool, felt, synthetics?

Hi Randy - If you do come up with a way to use a clear plastic, you could use the flexible vinyl used in boat windows - available from any outfit that makes boat tops and covers. I like the idea in Jsmith1983's post.
