I've had cracks in tool blades that i honed away, but later found a "new" in the same spot.
But it's nothing to do other than hone it away and cross your fingers.

How far is the crack from the end? I think that I see it. You could maybe shorten it to the crack.

This could happen but is not likely, tool blades do a lot more work.

It took an hour and a half, but as far as I can tell, I think I fixed it. Looks ok at 10x. Used light circles on the 1k, seemed to make the best progress doing sets of 10.

But damn I felt like I was chasing it for a while there. Time for a flor de cana.

I lost the "+", it is now about 15/16 where the crack was.

I am surprised. I would have guessed closer to 1/8" narrower.

I thought the same, I felt like I was chasing it for a while, but the tape measure doesn't lie.
