Cracked Filly
While honing a batch of razors, I noticed crack on this blade while checking my bevel. The crack itself is about 1/16 and the blade is a bit over 15/16. I hope this is salvageable. I've got a 1k, 4/8, and 16k at my disposal, and a dmt in the mail.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance

You can probably hone it out doing circles but be careful of any uneven pressure to avoid having the crack run.

I was also going to point out to watch the pressure so it doesn't cause the crack to spread.

Re: Cracked Filly
Hey guys,
With a crack of that size and the flat shape of the filarmonica, would it pose a threat to just leave it alone and hone as it (to the user)? Im thinking if the crack were to continue in the future it has likely already set its path in the grain, and with the hollow of that blade would honing it out ensure it doesnt spread?
Of course these questions cannot be answered with certainty, but it would be nice to get a couple of opinions.
Thanks,
Eric.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to give it a go after I get back from the gym.

I've had cracks in tool blades that i honed away, but later found a "new" in the same spot.
But it's nothing to do other than hone it away and cross your fingers.

How far is the crack from the end? I think that I see it. You could maybe shorten it to the crack.
