Switch to cotton wheels. I found sisal wheels were really bad at holding onto greaselss compound.

Yeah getting them loaded the first time can be frustrating

Try Light touch, let it dry, light touch, Repeat

Try bumping it until the wheel stops, Repeat

Try starting the load and turning off the power and letting it slow down under pressure

Finally throw the wheel very hard against the wall, cuss, and try a different brand and type of wheel

Concur on the throwing it against the wall and cussing part G lol. Honestly since I am a inexperienced novice at this I would probably take a wild guess on the brand being a little on the cheap side.

Are not some wheels "directional" ??

Perhaps reversing the rotation? (never used them, just seem to recall reading about it someplace)

Yes, some are sewn in a spiral pattern and don't like going the wrong way.
Your wheel looks like it having a bad hair day!
