I may even end up with a set of red oak scales as well, but i like the mahogany color a lot better. but if i ever run out of oak scraps, paint sticks.

and i made this design around the blade and made all the measurements so, in theory, the scales should work properly.

(And i take it from your name you are a Chevy guy? if so, we will get along great)

Paint sticks are all over by me, so I use what I have.. LOL The other advantage is that it is EASY to sand or shape by hand.
Oak "scraps" would be awesome to have lying around!

Yep I am a CHEVY guy! Have a '71 Chevelle

Great year for the Chevelle. I've had a 2000 Camaro SS and a 68 RS/SS Camaro (albeit only for a couple months to sell it).

68 is my favorite year, but i bought it off a family who lost their father to help out with some expenses and they didn't want to buy it back so they gave me free reign with it. The unfortuate part is that i was living in an appartment at the time and already had my truck and my 2000 camaro, and my father couldn't store it so i sold it off and boy do i reget it now.

The scales are shattered. I'm going to listen to GSSixgun and make just a replacement set of basic wood scales for it.

Yes i know, but I gave them money to help them out that I was expecting them to pay back (per our deal) but they wouldn't buy it back. I made my house down payment though on what i sold it for.
As much as i love them, House > Hot Rod.
