the lid is on a simple pivot. I have some minor joinery issues to resolve. I will do another one tonight and see about loading some better images in a couple of days

thanks. I'll get those tightened up a little and inset the bottom on the next ones. I'm not very good at figuring stuff out on paper in advance. I usually have them evolve and then do a run of twenty or so.

Fancy cigar shops often sell empty cigar boxes and some of them are well constructed and cheap. You might find some box ideas there.

pipesandcigars.com has used cigar boxes for sale. I bought a "they pick them" lot of five a while back. You can by them by choosing them as well. Very nice boxes, handy for many things, I plan on padding one for razor storage.

Ah yes cigar boxes are great. They are one of those things that I like to hold in my hand before I buy. However with the isolation of my job combined with the isolation of my home, I make boxes most of the time. It is however not anywhere as cheap as cigar boxes. Some of them have great joinery buried under the label too.

I'm attaching a link for a box, just as an example. For the price, it ain't too bad. But then, if you buy enough other stuff, you get free shipping!!

its not as fun to pat yourself on the back after punching in credit card #'s to order as it is to bust out a piece of wood and go to town !!!
