I know some of the Russians shoot at the bones and tusk, something about they still have to kill it.

i just recieved some blanks that i ordered though ebay that are 1.5"x6". The seller is based in the UK and his websites is:
pietradura.co.uk which has a link to the ebay shop. they seem to have bone, horn, mother of pearl, and other various inlay materials.
