    If you have time, look around for estate auctions at farms.
    Around here you can get a used three phase motor for about $5.

    Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

    Send a PM to Spazola. I remember a post he made showing an old motor he made a razor grinder out of. I don't recall what the original use was for the motor but it was a very well done job and I don't think he paid a lot of $ for the setup.

    And then there was the advanced setup ..... Charlie knows his stuff ;

    My NWG is complete...less a working motor, thus asking about a more affordable supplier. Charlie' s creations in the workshop are indeed amazing, he can belongs on the A-Team! Unless someone can point me to a cheaper supplier, i will order from the supplier i listed above.

    Have you looked at Graingers ? There is usually one not to far away from most industrial areas and they have EVERYTHING !

    Search 3 phase, 2hp motor with 7/8 shaft - Grainger Industrial Supply

    Second thought....after seeing prices I would suggest the same thing as Pixel. You might even get a motor attached to a lathe or something at that price..

    Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

    It happens all the time here. People don't want to take the time / effort to haul them in to town.
