Hmmm. I do have the old scales but to tell you the truth they seem rather narrow. Then again, I possibly exaggerated the blade width a little, it's 7/8 at the widest point.

It's rather funny that there are suggestions I make my own. You clearly don't know me. I have very few tools. Then again I keep looking around the house for things I could use.

I AM a little worried that last night I considered digging up the cat we buried in the garden last year to use its bones.

I wonder if the farmer next door would notice if one of his cows lacked a horn? I do have a hacksaw blade. But how to DO it, that is the question. Maybe a rag soaked in chloroform held to Daisy's unsuspecting nose in the dead of night?

You also could find an old razor with good scales to restore but with a useless blade... those are cheap.

Yeah, thought about that. I'm thinking of the bone scales here...

Carl, if you can wait for the international mail I've got some large plastic scales I could send you. I like wooden scales, as it turns out, and don't really need these. One set is white, another is black, and the third is an unfortunate approximation of nicotine-stained teeth. Let me know...
