Thread: Type of Hammer to Pin?

    All the above will work if the hammer face is radiused to constant curve and polished as nicely as possible. I have used them all and now my favored one is an old tack hammer that has a shallow radius on the head which I polished. The idea is to use a lot of light blows to the pin. I think after a while you may graduate to a heavier hammer and save the light one for delicate or finishing work.
