Re-freshing the razor, this is the only time I can think of that a micro-bevel would be advantageous, it would create a slightly steeper/stronger angle and require much less work/laps to achieve, it would also create a bevel that was entirely done on the finisher..
When the Micro-bevel is no loner achievable it would be time to rehone the razor again, this would possibly extend the time between full honing and give the best shaves for the longest time...

Personally I don't think the fact that DE and Disposable blades are created this way is a good reason to follow them
They start with much thinner and harder steel then we use *in general*
I was by no means compareing DE's to straights. I just thought it was interesting as an experiment and the unicot is based by similar means. What you said about setting the second micro bevel as the last step on a finisher, I agree totally. I would be interested in seeing different methods of multi-bevel edges with a microscope.
