Steve Many Thanks,
I don't often go to the home page, and so I had a bit of a dig around and found all sorts of new info that I have not seen before. Shows how observant I am

I usually do a "search this thread" on the sticky to find ebay names.
It's all good!

I download the XL file, and keep a copy on my Windows desktop. If I see a member on the bidders list, I either don't bid, or, if it's something I really want, I'll drop them a PM and tell them what my maximum bid will be, and, if they're willing to bid more, then ask them to let me know and I won't set up a snipe (that way, I won't be the one to run up their bid) - conversely, if I'm willing to go higher than them, then I would ask that they not bid, because the item will go for at least my bid (if not more, if I get outbid) and their bid might runup my price.
That's just the way I handle it - and if I have accidently sniped anyone, well, TOUGH!!!
I did, thank you very much!

BTW If you download the file, you'll need to update (redownload) it occasionally to be current.

I view ebay as fair game. If there is a razor I want, I bid my max price. I don't pay attention to any other bidders. I set the price and go with it. However, I don't use any "snipe" programs. My bidding is done live. Generally, I bid when I see a razor, and I win or I don't. I determine what I am willing to pay, and place the bid. If I win, fine. If I don't, fine.

Thanked: 79I've been sniped 8 times in a row for the same exact item (the guy keeps coming up with one more, every week) and looked at the auctions and found many of these were from the same guy (apparently people buy things to COLLECT, who would've thought). I sent him a message, saying leave one for the rest of us, I just want ONE, then I can stop running his price up, and he was cool about it, said he was buying them as an investment, and would leave off the snipe gun for the next one. Very cool. (I don't HAVE a snipe gun, and lately even if I did, connection issues kill me, last 3 second bids probably never make it through)
IF it's a member and I know it, no issues PM ing to ask.
You never know. The guy you think is an A-hole may just be trying to squirrel something away for the future. Never know til you ask...

awesome Lou
Hey Lou,
Glad to hear that you got that WB (if i remember correctly) at a good price. It was a beauty. BTW, what is the meaning behind your ebay name? I'm still trying to figure it out.

Thank you for your input guys. Steve, nice to see that you have returned, buddy. I can see that this is one of the places that no concesus will likely be met.
My ebay Philosophy is simular to Lou's. My impression of the name list is to help foster less competition amonst us, keeping the rising cost of our addiction in check and wotnot.
I don't see the point of adding one's name to the list that one knows that others will look at to determine whether or not to bid, and then still bid against them. Seems..how to put this...ungentleman like. But then again, like Lou said, it's a personal choice.
Like I said, I'm over it. It's not something worth getting worked up over. I was just shocked that it was a member whose name is on the list that was jacking up the price on my bids and would jump in the line.

Holy Smokes! Did I ever miss the intent of this list. I thought the list was so we could search ebay by the screen names of other members and find all the good stuff so we could snipe it at the last minute!
You mean we were NOT supposed to bid against these guys???
I was going to ask each to include their eSnipe delay times as well <g>
(Just kidding guys)
