You have to confirm your bid with less than 4 seconds to go to be reasonably sure you wont be out bid.
Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Well, it doesn't matter to the seller whether it is you who bought it or somebody else - he knew he has a buyer willing to take it for $100, and if somebody else does it before them he still got the sale.
Did you tell him you'd have paid $150 or $200 if he'd have made sure he sold it to you
More money is pretty much the only incentive to prefer one buyer over another, but then he may have decided to just let it run and could've gotten the $300+ market price.

I have seen some of your finds. You are definitely ahead of the game. I have read your posts and Ebay finds, you have more than most. I will bet you have at least 10 barbers hones and at least that many various grit hones. That said I feel your pain
. I hate getting sniped and BIN out from under me. But Ebay messed up and bid me up by $6.00 over my max bid and I scored another Boker Magnetic Steel blade.
I feel your pain, I take what the E bay gods giveth.

Nice man, my first restore was a boker magnetic damascus and I still enjoy shaving with it in my weekly rotation.

You seem like a really straight shooter. I feel for your worst best luck. But I've seen some of your hauls in terms of straights. I can man up an say kudos to you and I am a bit jealous.
Kinda like that member who was given an Escher plus some great straights this past week.
To stay on point ,you are a blessed man, just on your finds and hauls.
Just know WE all hate snipes and snakey BIN pop-ups.
I am currently bidding and because of your story, I am over bidding by $100. you want it ..it'll cost you
Just to clarify ,I was under the impression that the boker in discussion was used in your babershop. Do you use it in personal or proffesional use? or both? kinda confused? Secondly you shared the pics of your restore and I want to say " Nice Work".

I use it on customers as well as myself....I have like 10 SR laying on my backbar that I use on a daily basis, each one slightly different grind/size. I tend to lean towards the 5/8 on customers though as its easier to maneuver around ears and necks I find.
I grew up in a family of antique dealers so I'm always picking for good deals its in my blood....I still lack a coticule and an actual Escher and I only own one barber hone so the lot wouldst been nice, not that my bouts are bad I have been wanting a larger sized one though, and I know a couple people wanting a thuringian that would have liked to have one of my bouts.
I really wasn't ticked I didn't get it in time I was only dissapointed. Posted this saying someone got a heck of a deal is all based on my offer I made to the people listing the item.Last edited by DennisBarberShop; 06-19-2014 at 02:52 AM.

Yeah most barber shops gave up wet shaving long ago, my shop is the only one in this area of Kentucky that does it. A dying art for sure.
