Yeah I will look at it as Soon as it gets here. I never jump right in to any honing I always assess the razors an decide what the best plan of action is.
Just like recently I was polishing a razor an the wheel grabbed it an I got a slight knick in the blade so after assessing the knick I simply grabbed my 8k naniwa did a few circles then some X-strokes followed by the 12K an soon enough the knick was gone razor was back to smooth as butter an there wasn't a bunch of honing involved or wear to the spine.

First off thank you silverloaf I completely agree with what you said I never destroy a blade edge (probably not best word choice) just to fix an issue unless there is no other option or it's a junk blade that I'm trying out a new technique on.
Second razor is in hand an it is not NOS as listed it is very very close but someone has sharpened it at least once an I don't mean the factory.
Now as for the frown it is very very very small no where near as pronounced as it looked in the photos. An it's an easy fix whoever sharpened it DID NOT sharpen the heel not sure why only thing I can think is they didn't know how to hone properly or the little bit of excess metal where the tang meets the blade at the spine edge kept changing the angle on the hone so they didn't try as the hone wear is literally only 3/4s of the blade an no more. So all in all a quick fix an a hopefully great shaver.
Thanks everyone for their input an their concerns with the pics always good to k ow that everyone here is looking out for one another.

wow people are really reading things into statements that are not there! this is happening a lot lately. "NEED" is a strong word and was never said. my statement came simply from my own observation and use of more narrow hones being held in hand, being easier FOR ME to be able to isolate and correct trouble areas on a blade over successive honings without introducing heavy and uneven wear in certain areas on a blade. especially with a frowning blade i found that true where a standard hone works but often hits the toe and heel only unless you apply more pressure than you would while performing a standard honing. that flexes the edge and results in heavy wear at those areas with a tiny bevel maintained in the middle. ok, that gets it done and in one shot, just not an absolute necessity in my opinion. with a side note being that not everyone has tons of experience honing and is not able to judge consistently how much pressure to use in that circumstance. so my original statement: " if its not extreme you can shave fine with it in most cases and the edge can be maintained with a narrow hone and the frown corrected over the course of successive honing sessions......." ill add: but is a narrow hone necessary? no. hows that?

ebay does have an option for "sell one like this" and ive seen a bunch of razors mislabeled as NOS or other and my assumption is that this function may have been employed. a seller may not really know what they have so they search for what looks like theirs and say "thats it!" next thing you know theres another "NOS" razor at a great price
not blaming the sellers its hard to know what you have sometimes if youre not already educated in an area.
but as to yours i say happy shaving! looking forward to hearing your experience whipping it into shape and mowing down some whiskasSilverloaf
