If you have an ebay razor, ie are staring from zero or worse yet have a nick then yeah, they can be a real PITA.

I have seen some pics here representing a wedge as being a true triangle but this is incorrect.

I have quite a few and have seen even more, like maybe 150 , and all are just slightly concave.
They do have a longer bevel so obviously you are taking off more metal but you also have zero flex at the edge while shaving and zero noise.

I touch my wedges up on a pasted strop once a week but hollows, whatever brand, are an every 2 or 3 day thing.

I also feel like i have to use less pressure on a wedge.

The simplest way I could describe the difference in shave is to compare it to swinging an axe vs a machete or a wooden bat vs a aluminum.
