Thanked: 169Global shipping program really is horrible
Bought this charnley forest a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, it had no cracks or chips when it left the seller's home packed well in a box, but since global shipping program believes in providing the best service possible for eBay customers, they rectified that! They yanked it from the original packaging, made sure to put some healthy chips on the surfaces during transfer and then were nice enough to send it nice and protected in bubble envelope loose to send it around the earth. All for the low, low price of £18. Nice. Pics coming!

Thanked: 169I am going to attack it with sic. Seller gave me the option of return or partial refund so a very good seller. Feel for them as it was totally not their fault. Be real bad if it were something you can't just grind back with silicon carbide...

Thanked: 169Lapped the top and sides. Lapped the back partially but I quit for now. I will grind through that chip though. I wasn't planning to, but maybe I will keep the back lapped matte for knives and the top polished. It was actually lapped albeit not a refined lap. Buyer beware with global shipping program.

I friggin hate global shipping,
I've had 2 very nice & a truly rare 13/16" W&B "VR" razor not make it past the Kentucky sort facility, freely opened & never repacked or forwarded by the Dog'sSaved,
to shave another day.

Isn't there some sort of insurance to make a claim?
Financial pressure is the standard way to push for improvements.

Thanked: 169Of course you can but I think the main warning here is don't deal with gsp at all be it buyer or seller. They may put you in a very compromised position as a seller by damaging your stuff when you aren't even in the loop anymore. If that big chip were in the main working area, I probably would have sent it back to the UK. She was shocked to see what they traded off her packaging for. The thing I find most concerning is they obviously damaged the stone when it was loose from all packaging as the remnants of the big chip weren't there. They just ignored and plowed on. That could be really miserable if you buy something you can't afford to damage like a blade, or say, components for an old foreign car you need badly, or technical things.
