Default Global shipping program really is horrible

Bought this charnley forest a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, it had no cracks or chips when it left the seller's home packed well in a box, but since global shipping program believes in providing the best service possible for eBay customers, they rectified that! They yanked it from the original packaging, made sure to put some healthy chips on the surfaces during transfer and then were nice enough to send it nice and protected in bubble envelope loose to send it around the earth. All for the low, low price of £18. Nice. Pics coming!

Makes you want to return a dog turd and let them re pack that :<0) Maybe a few.
Hope they compensate for you somehow I wouldn't just let it go.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

I am going to attack it with sic. Seller gave me the option of return or partial refund so a very good seller. Feel for them as it was totally not their fault. Be real bad if it were something you can't just grind back with silicon carbide...

Lapped the top and sides. Lapped the back partially but I quit for now. I will grind through that chip though. I wasn't planning to, but maybe I will keep the back lapped matte for knives and the top polished. It was actually lapped albeit not a refined lap. Buyer beware with global shipping program.

    I friggin hate global shipping,
I've had 2 very nice & a truly rare 13/16" W&B "VR" razor not make it past the Kentucky sort facility, freely opened & never repacked or forwarded by the Dog's

I hate it too. I pretty much never even look at items that are using the program. It is super expensive and super slow, plus they charge brokerage fees that are as brokerage fees are by nature just gauging plain and simple. I have never had them loose or mispackage anything but won't buy anything that uses that service. Those guys and UPS are criminal in what they charge.

i agree for the price, but the seller needs to put it in a package in which the item can be delivered safely. otherwise, for the price and the package they put the item in (by global shipping staff) are exceeded. sometimes i hate to see the sellers send their items only by global shipping option, if they would chose to send by going to post office, they can find some lower shipping price and may have attention to gain more.

Is it meeting weight and dimensional spec or is it more visual confirmation of the item by eBay logistics? Even if it were in spec, I don't expect them to neatly rewrap an item and tape the box again. Why would you when you have the padded envelope of doom?
