    I friggin hate global shipping,
I've had 2 very nice & a truly rare 13/16" W&B "VR" razor not make it past the Kentucky sort facility, freely opened & never repacked or forwarded by the Dog's

Isn't there some sort of insurance to make a claim?
Financial pressure is the standard way to push for improvements.

Of course you can but I think the main warning here is don't deal with gsp at all be it buyer or seller. They may put you in a very compromised position as a seller by damaging your stuff when you aren't even in the loop anymore. If that big chip were in the main working area, I probably would have sent it back to the UK. She was shocked to see what they traded off her packaging for. The thing I find most concerning is they obviously damaged the stone when it was loose from all packaging as the remnants of the big chip weren't there. They just ignored and plowed on. That could be really miserable if you buy something you can't afford to damage like a blade, or say, components for an old foreign car you need badly, or technical things.

Are you sure that they are not going to assume liability for the damage they have done and pass it to the seller? That'd be a big class action lawsuit in the waiting.

They did not alter anything this time. Stone arrived safely so at least this time no claims drama and no backbreaking grinding out of chips on a charnley.. My verdict? Continue to lowball maxes on these auctions and exercise extreme caution.Name: 20170223_120520.jpg

Charnley forests remain some of the most visually striking hones. Need to lap it but a pretty thing

I stopped using GSP altogether, prefer to know that when I package an item secure it will stay that way and arrive that way. I have had zero issues shipping without GSP and on the buying end there is no inflated price for a third party handler!

This was 70 minutes on sic to just pull the corners up a hint to get it all true... by far the worst cf lapping experience. Slurry on this one is not pink. Not enough red in the rock I guess.Name: 20170225_121245.jpg

As a seller who utilized the plan I liked it. Case in point, I sold an Escher Barber's Delight for a lot of $ to a guy in Russia. Had I been on my own I would have been sweating bullets waiting the MONTH that it took the stone to be delivered.

Of course I insured it for the full value, but my responsibility ended in Kentucky at the ebay international shipping center. So had anything happened subsequent to the delivery within the USA I was off the hook.

This was before I was aware of the re-packing that ebay does. A friend of mine buys and sells expensive copper tin lined cookware on ebay. She packs bullet proof in her sales to wherever, and she won't use the global shipping program because they repack.

She knows this, and made it known to me, by pieces of cookware she has received from Europe, from sellers that she knows pack well. The pieces, in some cases damaged, in some not, were unpacked and repacked haphazardly by ebay reps.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
