As a seller who utilized the plan I liked it. Case in point, I sold an Escher Barber's Delight for a lot of $ to a guy in Russia. Had I been on my own I would have been sweating bullets waiting the MONTH that it took the stone to be delivered.

Of course I insured it for the full value, but my responsibility ended in Kentucky at the ebay international shipping center. So had anything happened subsequent to the delivery within the USA I was off the hook.

This was before I was aware of the re-packing that ebay does. A friend of mine buys and sells expensive copper tin lined cookware on ebay. She packs bullet proof in her sales to wherever, and she won't use the global shipping program because they repack.

She knows this, and made it known to me, by pieces of cookware she has received from Europe, from sellers that she knows pack well. The pieces, in some cases damaged, in some not, were unpacked and repacked haphazardly by ebay reps.
