It's difficult to say. I don't think eBay cares either way. That's my experience anyway having been on there since the 90s. The attitude you get as a seller towards any issue when you call them is generally apathy. I'd love for someone here to post about their subsequent service experience if eBay logistics destroyed a high value item beyond repair.

The one good thing is you can avoid it. Fortunately, most sellers are very cool about packaging these days. Only dodgy one in recent memory was a coti stuffed haphazardly in an egg carton and then in a padded envelope, but at least the higher brain function kicked in enough to recognize the envelope alone might not cut it.

I've had a Boker lost because of gsp..... They put the wrong postal code on the package. I got a full refund.... I'm not sure if the seller got dinged for it or not.
gsp is overrated for the most part.
Is it over there or over yonder?

The positive is it seems to get fast tracked through customs here but that is offset by the fact that logistics companies like newgistics play games with the package for days on end so much so that it might as well have stayed at customs.

The GSP is run through Fedex in the U.S and one thing I know for sure is there is no delay with them. They are their own Customs Broker so packages go right through. I know from foreign fedex does pre customs at the source so there is no delay once it arrives here unless of course there is a paperwork problem.

Mine went straight through and ended up with newgistics in NJ for days until they finally transferred it to USPS.

Bought another rock from the uk that the seller insisted on gsp for. I know for a fact it was packed in boxes as I asked so let's see how (if) they repackage this. Arrived in ny a few days ago so once logistics stops playing keep away we'll see. They have had about a year to improve. Rock condition start point: Name: s-l1600.jpg

My understanding is the repacking/ foreign shipment processing in the U.S is done by Pitney Bowes and Eboy has nothing to do with it other than the contractual agreement.

If there are enough problems Eboy will make them pack differently.

The only thing you can be 100% certain that ebay cares about is profit. That's what management compensation is tied to, so that is what makes them do one thing or another. Any single case or person doesn't matter to them because the effect is negligible. Things only matter when the collective effect of thousands to million individual cases pools together in the same direction and becomes significant.
The only thing you can control is your own actions - you can either align them to the effect you want to see or not. If sufficient number of people do the same, change happens. It's still up to you if you chose to contribute your own insignificant part to it or not.
    This is simply the reality.
