The GSP is run through Fedex in the U.S and one thing I know for sure is there is no delay with them. They are their own Customs Broker so packages go right through. I know from foreign fedex does pre customs at the source so there is no delay once it arrives here unless of course there is a paperwork problem.

Mine went straight through and ended up with newgistics in NJ for days until they finally transferred it to USPS.

Bought another rock from the uk that the seller insisted on gsp for. I know for a fact it was packed in boxes as I asked so let's see how (if) they repackage this. Arrived in ny a few days ago so once logistics stops playing keep away we'll see. They have had about a year to improve. Rock condition start point: Name: s-l1600.jpg

I will not buy any item if it is shipped GSP. They charge me custom taxes even when they are not due and the shipping actual takes longer.

Yep, this is more a test to see if they throw it in some envelope and wreck it or if they have higher brain function kick in. Basically, if it is packed properly. Actually, ppl seem to avoid the gsp auctions to such a degree that the tacked on costs evaporate and then some much of the time.

I was all for it until I found out that #1 they repack, and #2 the insurance (in the USA) that you put on the package is valid until delivered in the USA to the repository in Kentucky.

I figured that if anything went amiss to the international destination it was ebay's baby. Not so. Now your item is going to the destination uninsured, and if it is wrecked, or lost, paypal will not cover it.

At least that is what I've been told.

Guy in the UK had a Blackland Blackbird safety razor I would have probably bought but for the GSP. I explained it to him messaging on ebay, but he was adamant to stick with GSP, so no go for me.

This time around I contacted pitney bowes directly before they got the item from the seller and they swore up and down they don't repack unless the packaging is damaged which sounds like bs but we'll see since it was double boxed so at least it should arrive in one of them. I have heard of ppl buying vintage toys in box and the idiots throwing the box away and mailing whatever loose in a padded envelope. Videos same deal.

I didn't know about any of this gsp stuff other than how to turn it off when I want to sell something.

I know that they have repackaged copper cookware coming from Europe to Pittsburgh (friend of mine) and the packing they did was substandard, and the cookware was damaged. Regardless of what they say. Unless of course my friend is lying, and I don't think she is.

I mean, I am with you on this... I avoid them religiously, but that sold for like half of what it should have. Basically my low bid held so I am just going to add to this for the purpose of consumer awareness.
