I'm glad I dont own any big FBU blades, because if all it takes to make them is a trip to an etch machine, it will soon be impossible for the average joe to tell whats real, whats not, and the value of the originals might tank if nobody believes them to be honest anymore, (or sudden supplies cause lower demand)

Good information to all the collectors out there.. THey mght be re-etched, but are they genuine Wade and Butcher Razors? If so I don't see the point of etching them witht he celebrated text, love the razor as it is or go find the actual celebrated razor, just my opinion.

Most likely. The tang etchings look original.

I recently saw this on a pocket watch case that looked like it was laser etched but claimed to be original. Old pocket watches with engravings - especially trains - go for more money but this engraving looked to perfect and didn't show the wear normally seen on 100+ year old cases. I guess we have to be on guard all the time.

I have the feeling that the value of all Wade and butcher razors might tank when they reopen next year. Especially if the new ones are as nice if not nicer than the old ones.

They should crash at some point anyway. The 'hot' brands often go in cycles. Puma 38s used to be crazy a few years ago and now I can barely sell the few I have.

There's a person on this site that is reopening the Wade and butcher company. There's another Trend about this but I can't remember the name of it. Also go to Wadeandbutcher.com

I have also found their Facebook page. It seems that their workshop will not be in Sheffield, but in South Africa. If the quality is there I don't suppose the location matters too much. Let's see.
