Not sure is this really contributes much of anything to the thread, but here are three that I used to own. Top is the usual FBU stamp, center the somewhat unusual For Barbers Only, and bottom one with the Celebrated FBU etch (not in the photo) but you can see that tang stamp clearly ;
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Here's a different W&B FBU then....
A W&B 9/8 without the stabilizers...
And this spike point 8/8 with the FBU on the tang...B&M soap not included:

Nice, Phrank!
You can bet that last one is reground/reshaped from a Wedge FBU such as the 2nd pic!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Oh yeah...it was a wedge, noo doot aboot it, it was superbly reground into a hollow, it is as hollow as a Fili #14....this razor always makes me chuckle thinking it must be the Great, Great Grandfather of all the big hollows. I can say, for a beat up beast that it is, it gives one of the nicest, closest, smoothest shaves of most of the razor's I've ever used.

Imagine a grinder back then being tasked with making an old beast into a 'modern' razor!
I love the 'aftermarket' work from the old days as much as the originals.
Sometimes more!
Waterville of Connecticut got in on the blade-etch action as well...In an even thinner way.
..Way back when!
It's all historical!
Modern-day fakes................Notsomuch...Last edited by sharptonn; 07-07-2016 at 03:35 AM.

Yes, I also have a Frederick Reynolds 9/8, with the same "action etching" of, The Celebrated, Hollow Ground Razor, For Barber's Use, on the blade face. It's not an etching type stamp, seems like one of the lighter quick film type etching, I have a few razors with this lighter type etching...here's one of the only photo's I have that you can somewhat see the etching, followed by another pic of the razor, you have to look really close to even see it's remnants:

Lengthy in this situation was much appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to write this. You did an excellent job of building and supporting your case and pointing out the minute differences to where even a novice such as myself could tell. +1 that this thread should be in the SRP wiki.
