    Default a little peeved

Stumbled across an auction on the bay. It caught my eye immediately. What was so special about it you ask?

    It was MY AUCTION!

I sold the razor last year, and the fellow who bought it has put it back up for sale.

What bothers me is, he is using all of my old photographs, and even my description. What do you guys think of that sort of thing?
I rarely use another persons photos, and when I do, I always ask for permission first.

Part of me is pissed, another part of me says "well, I DID take some mighty fine photos there"

If he's using pictures of the razor from a year ago I hope that the condition of the razor is exactly as it was a year ago. It's possible it remained absolutely untouched for a year but also possible it was honed, used, cleaned, made dirtier, accumulated corrosion, etc. during that time.

You can report him to eBay. That is unethical.

If you have the old listing saved somehow and send it to ebay they will take his listing down for sure. Might be too long ago for there to be a copy of the description and photos though.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Well, you can buy it back from him and re-list with the photos he's using now.

I don't have a problem with the sale itself, but using your photos that's kind of messed up. I'm going to guess that after a year the razor may not look the same, maybe?

His claim in the ad is that he bought it and never used it. If he stored it properly it SHOULD still look like it did. If he never took it out of my packaging, its likely still shave ready. But I really doubt he did that.

Technically, the photos you took are your copyrighted material, and he is not legally permitted to use them without your permission. That said, you already maximally monetized the photos by selling the razor...it's unlikely he would be willing to pay you for their use. Is it worth the hassle to you?

Asking you first would have been the proper thing to do,,,

But if they are nice pics accept the compliment and move on
