Horsehide Strop – Ezra Arthur
Its like stroping on the legs of a Victoria secret model who's rubbed Cocoa butter on them everyday of her life.Last edited by HARRYWALLY; 03-10-2018 at 01:46 AM.

I went to a local barber as a kid in East Texas. Name of Force.
He had a strop with Chicago screws. Must have been 20 on it. Couple inches thick.
He had an Elephant hide strop on it. I remember that.
Anyhow, it hung from the side of the chair. When he used one thing or another, he would flop the top ones over the arm of the chair. The guy ate cigars!
I often wonder where that strop is now.

Thanked: 0Hi everyone. This is my first time posting. We were having a lot of traffic come to our website from here, so I came to investigate. Thank you to everyone that came to take a look. I appreciate you taking the time to check us out.
I just wanted to share a couple of things about the conversation in this thread.
First off...I agree...the quad strop was a bit of a "unique" idea. It came from a customer of ours. We had a custom request for this build and we liked it so much we have continued to sell them. (Like someone mentioned, they are simply two doubles attached and can be removed for ease of use, if needed)
We sent one to a gentleman in Turkey about a month ago who has posted a review on our sight. If you are interested in his thoughts, you can see it at the bottom of our page here. https://www.etsy.com/shop/NationsLeather To be fair...it was a really nice review so I might be a bit biased about sharing it.
The second is in reference to our leather and the authenticity of what hides we use. We simple stand behind all of our products. If I list a piece from The Horween Leather Company, then that piece of leather is a genuine piece of Horween Hide. (with Horween it is nice because they have a classic stamp that goes on the back of each hide.)
I can post a photo of me holding a hide...with the logo...and a newspaper...showing the date...and my passport...with my voter's registration....wedding ring...oh...with my brand new baby girl. yes. 7 days old)
Perhaps thats too much...maybe just a photo of my baby girl. She is #5 and The LORD has continued to bless my family.
I guess that is it for now, we are excited to be a new part of this community. Like anything, there is always something new to learn and I will be excited to watch and listen to experienced Senior Members share their knowledge. Shout out if I can share any info or photos of our process. Thanks again. Doug
EDIT NOTE. I almost forgot one of the main reasons why I wanted to post tonight. We are getting new clips into the shop in about a week, which will significantly cut done on the cost of our strops. We currently use a very nice Stainless Steel for the hardware, and quite frankly...I just don't think its worth it. The new strop will be all leather. Simple and solid...and a much, much better price. Anyway, I just wanted to add that piece of info. Thanks again.Last edited by NationsLeather; 03-16-2018 at 07:30 AM.

Thanked: 556Hi Doug.
Welcome to SRP.
I started this thread because your strops were an unknown quantity to me and before I ventured a purchase, I sought the collective wisdom and experience of the SRP members.
I hope you will continue to be a presence on this forum and that you will consider joining the vendor forum.
All the best.David
