Thanked: 0Thank you DZEC,
I really appreciate you starting this thread. We are just a small shop. I am the tanner and maker. Anytime someone drives traffic to our site or, in this case, page with Etsy it is very helpful. Please let me know if I can ever be of assistance to you. Doug @ Nations

To tell you the truth I wouldn't let a elephant hide strop anywhere near one of my razors. It's tough hard stuff. I had a pair of dress boots with the stuff and even well tanned it's too full of grain and marks. You can tame shark hide which is like sandpaper to be soft but elephant is something else.

Thanked: 2284Just that. They are very well made. I had the opportunity to actually handle the strops the company made, in store before I bought it. (It was "Bison made" but the name has changed to "Ezra Arthur." Products are still exactly the same.) At the time a good quality horsehide strop (excluding cordovan) was hard to find. I fell in love the way it felt when I ran my hand over it. Slick but yet supple and soft. Mine has just become better and better the more I've used it. I have no urge to buy anything else because I really like it so much. I also got a great price on it which helped the decision. They have sales going on every so often that you need to watch out for. A while ago I had posted when they had some %50 off sales that I caught on Instagram. That may have been when they were changing names tho, and trying to get rid of the old stock.
I noticed today they just posted on instagram that they now have 9 different colored Cordovan strops available.
