Default Strops for sale on ETSY

Was just killing time browsing the internet with my morning coffee and ran across an ad for a quad strop by Nations Leather on ETSY.

    https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/5748...home_active_45

Does anyone have any experience with strops from this vendor?

That strop seem a little weird to me. It is an unusual mix of components. All of my strops are two components. Leather and fabric.

I suppose it seemed like a good idea at the time, but it looks like it might be hard to manage with three parts hanging while you worked with one.

He also makes more traditional strops.

I wanted to know if anyone on SRP had experience with this fellow and could comment on the quality of his strops.

From what I am see in the picture, there’s 2 sets of 2 strops each. So you’d just be dealing with the normal handling of them. The horse is Horween so it is a top quality strop no question there. An it would be a safe guess, I believe, that his other components would be as well. But you just never know.

You can find a vintage Strop in good condition on eBay for a lot less. There is a C-Mon Strop like new condition listed no where near your price.

I would ask for confirmation that it is in fact Horween. It seems that is becoming as common of a fraud as calling every slate hone an Escher.

I plan on listing two strops for sale shortly, both are excellent and barely used.

Interesting concept. Most likely something to set them apart from the other strop makers. We're discussing it!
If I ever purchase a strop besides my DIY one I would really like to get one with a flax linen component though.

They say the Horween Leather Company is their source in the description.

I find this very true on razors as lots of sellers use the word NOS and lots of what is marked with that title looks bad, to me NOS is either one still sealed in plastic or two it’s been unwrapped just to take pics
