Yes I definitely want them John. Just not enough nickels and dimes in the piggy bank for that little purchase. That's an out of budget item for sure.

7 day sets were pretty common back in the day. Silver less so but certainly not like hen's teeth. This was probably bought in an upper end store ready made and the initials were inscribed. The amount of silver is probably not worth more than a few hundred bucks including the artwork.
Outrageous asking price IMHO.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I would not be interested in them, personally. As far as sterling goes, the design is fairly bland.
The blades are Specials, so likely from the 20's I think. So they are marked sterling, but no hallmarks and it reads that some are electropencil marked?
Nice set, but about 175 each would be fair.

Also the font of the etchings is modern. And tbh kinda boring.
I've restored a Joseph Rodgers 7 day set that had much more ornate etching.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Some time ago some outfit was advertising a modern straight with some exotic scale material encrusted with gems and selling for thousands as I recall. it's still on one of the forums here. I'm too lazy to search for it.
There are some true works of art in 7 day sterling sets that were custom made. Most are either in museums or in private collections never to see the light of day.
Don't forget at one time gold sold for $35 per oz and silver for pennies an ounce so...No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
