    Default The famous Chronik

According to B&B's "Joel," Chronik made the best razors that have ever been made. They don't seem to come up often, but there is one on ebay now: link.

Joel's views made me interested, but I'm not interested enough to pay $200+, which is the current bid.

    Here's a quote from Joel's review:

"I was able to get THE best shaves of my life with the thing.... and without having to stop (sic) it. I went 2 weeks once without stropping it.... never pulled. The thing is scary, scary sharp - all I need is ONE pass WITH the grain for a perfect shave.... normally I do at least 3 and go against the grain."

Do we know of anyone other than Joel who has shaved with one of these things? Frankly, it's hard to believe any razor stands out from the rest the way he says it does. Two weeks of shaving without having to strop it?! I'd sure be interested in hearing other reports.

I think this truly is a YMMV.

No doubt whoever is bidding on this is doing it based on Joel's posts about his. I wonder what it'll finish at.

I had never seen one before. I've read Joel's comments on razors for quite some time as well. Looks like a Dovo to me too.

Beauty and the shave in many cases are in the hand and face of the beholder..........

    Have fun.

Yeah I saw it at 66 too and remembered Joel's ranking of it.... I'm very curious about the final price as well. I hope whoever ends up buying it would be brave enough to come out and do a review.... What about the following scenario - somebody places an obscene bid and gets it - then rents it out to the curious at $15/week. Given Joel's review and it being a razor that seems to have been made in total quantity of 2 it may not be a bad venture...
