I fine with it you not being of the same mind as I, There's often differences of opinion between people on the internet, especially when people are not of the same nationality. As certain cultural differences can at times guide or dictate people in their ways of thinking.
And there is more, I have no doubt, that we disagree on. But I have learned never to argue on the internet .

Totally agree. If I am snipping, or bidding by regular means, I am always putting in the highest I am willing to pay for the item period. I do not sit and watch an item and increase the bid $.05 everytime someone else bids. If the item is at $9.99 and I am willing to pay 120 for it then I put in 120 either in a bid or a snipe.
The one nice thing about snipping though, is that it usually helps prevent an inflated price or the start of a bidding war thus driving the price up higher than it goes for in a snipe. Guess I can thank all those people who sit back and bid $.05 over the current each time for that.

Thanked: 26Guilty as charged. I can't stand to waste things and I get shipping peanuts with my packages. I see it as recycling to use them again for packages I ship.
That's one of my big pet peeves. People, usually eBay newbies, who get into a bidding war hour or even days before the listing's end. I love it as a seller - hate it as a buyer. I guess it balances out.Last edited by TstebinsB; 05-13-2008 at 06:57 PM.

Thanked: 108Tape and a paper towel sounds pretty bad but I'm curious why a padded envelope is so bad? That's not meant to be a challenge at all – it's just that I sell things here and there on ebay, and I often will use envelopes (with the item wrapped with lots of bubble wrap inside). The flat-rate envelopes are especially handy for overseas shipping.

In Australia postal options are few: Items going overseas are limited to Letters or Parcels.
Letters are meant to be documents only & can be no thicker than 20mm approx. 3/4"
No way I can sneak a razor through under 20mm. Parcels are weight & I just make a box that will keep an item safe & under weight.
Smallest Oz parcel is up to 250g.
I'd never use a padded envelope as imagine if another parcel that weighed 10 or 15kg was dropped on a poor razor in an envelope.
Insurance of items posted in Australia but heading overseas are ONLY covered for loss NOT breakages.
Must admit I'm guilty of plenty of tape on the outside of the box (not contents) Tape is getting crappier and unless it is "tape over tape" it peels off too easily.
Don't waste time trying to undo sticky tape ~ Arm yourself with a pocket knife and slit along any seams.
