I'll say exactly what I mean and leave it at that.

All I can figure is some folks have more money than they need. That IS a good thing and God bless them.

I personally think the ducks are overpriced. That isn't an insult to anyone who want's to pay $200 + for one and has the bucks to do it. God bless them if they do. I also think Lexus are overpriced. Yet my mother-in-law ownes two. God bless her, she enjoys driving them. Would I turn one down, probably not, but I wouldn't pay Blue Book rates for one either. Is that an insult to Lexus drivers? It shouldn't be. Is having the funds to pay exorbitant prices for a duck an insult? No, it's a compliment to the lengths one will go to have something they enjoy.

Did I take a quote form someone, compare their words to those of a known communist, and smuggly ask if they were one? No, I didn't. And that had nothing to do with the thread. The price of the ducks, that was the subject of the thread as I understood it. Was I insulted by the implication and subsequent question? Yep, sure was.

That being said, I am in no way saying that Dubl Ducks are not all that great, quite the contrary, I'm a fan. If my Goldedge was not a family heirloom, it would be one of my rotation razors. As it is I only break it out for "special occasion" shaves as I want to try and keep it as nice as I can. It was my great-grandfather's I'd like to see it shave my great grandson. Truth is I'd like to have another one to put into my rotation, just not at the prices they currently go for. Like Spendur was getting at, I might get lucky and find one. It could happen. In the interim, I have found other brands that I find much more friendly to my financial situation, they hone and shave just a consistantly as the ducks and are just a pretty (to me anyway).

In conclusion, this red blooded American is telling all you guys to go get the razor you fancy. If you can afford it God bless you!!! If you can't there are alternatives. It just isn't necessary to bully others while you do it. Nuff said.
