IMO sniping programs should be illegal. It also takes the rush out of bidding.

So, What's the point of a sniping program anyway. You decide what your max bid is, say, 100 dollars. It waits until the last few seconds, (which by the way Ebay offers for free, it's called, "Countdown" and it places it. If my max is 120.00 I still win, so how does it benefit you.

Also, mentioned earlier, There's no sense in bidding up an item 6 days out. I'll never understand that one either....

I usually have more important things to do than counting down the last seconds. That's what's beneficial for me. The alternative is to place my bid early, but then it gets exposed to all kinds of irrational, or may be very rational bidders, either of which I'd rather avoid. Not to mention that I can change my mind until the bid is placed.
